I've experience the DW several times before, and have never known it to go away by increasing speed. In my experience, you have to slow to a complete stop to end the DW (or keep going and die ) Maybe it is something else. Have you checked your alignment?
I had a 98 GC 4.0 before my current one and it did the DW for a few weeks, when I took it in to the dealer (still under the extended warranty) they changed the transmission fluid & filter and changed out the fluid in the transfer cases. Not sure if that will help you, but it did the trick for me.
