The wife wanted to join the insane-os today and do her xmas shopping, so Tricia and I had the whole day to go out and play.
Chris didn't want to go because of gas, and I just plumb forgot to call Josh, so went up to an easy trail that leads up to a campsite we used years ago up above the hot springs in Idaho Springs (Montane Park area for those that know the area).
Started out looking okay with just a few icy spots
Snow looked a bit deep, but there were lots of tire tracks in it, so didn't turn back.
Tricia in true form - she fell asleep about 20 minutes before the stopping point at the campsite that we used.
Found a little rock to sit on while she slept (definitely little, but still looked okay...pic doesn't do much justice.) I love how mean the ZJ looks from the front with the BB. Here's a rear passenger pic.
Camera was aimed a bit too high and got the tint strip at the top of the windshield here, but it looks pretty cool.
Idaho Springs from a spot on the trail pretty close to the bottom.
Overall, a nice easy trail to take with the daughter, and some pretty nice scenery. I confirmed that my Yokohama Geolandars do awesome in the snow. There were some icy spots that I was concerned about, but didn't slip one bit. Very nice tires. Best thing I've seen yet other than my studded snows for ice and snow. I've sort of decided to see how they do this season instead of bolting on the snows - we'll see. Snows will stay in the garage for the time being.
