Short easy run with the daughter

The wife wanted to join the insane-os today and do her xmas shopping, so Tricia and I had the whole day to go out and play.

Chris didn't want to go because of gas, and I just plumb forgot to call Josh, so went up to an easy trail that leads up to a campsite we used years ago up above the hot springs in Idaho Springs (Montane Park area for those that know the area).

Started out looking okay with just a few icy spots

Snow looked a bit deep, but there were lots of tire tracks in it, so didn't turn back.

Tricia in true form - she fell asleep about 20 minutes before the stopping point at the campsite that we used.

Found a little rock to sit on while she slept (definitely little, but still looked okay...pic doesn't do much justice.) I love how mean the ZJ looks from the front with the BB. Here's a rear passenger pic.

Camera was aimed a bit too high and got the tint strip at the top of the windshield here, but it looks pretty cool.

Idaho Springs from a spot on the trail pretty close to the bottom.

Overall, a nice easy trail to take with the daughter, and some pretty nice scenery. I confirmed that my Yokohama Geolandars do awesome in the snow. There were some icy spots that I was concerned about, but didn't slip one bit. Very nice tires. Best thing I've seen yet other than my studded snows for ice and snow. I've sort of decided to see how they do this season instead of bolting on the snows - we'll see. Snows will stay in the garage for the time being.

Looks like a fun trail, may have to go check it out sometime. I thought about going up and playing alittle today but got side tracked by a few things.

AT+IIs. Love the heck outta them. Awesome for crawling, great for mud, and today I found that they're good for minor snow (with an estabilished track). We'll see what happens when we get a decent snow out here. We'll see if they get my neighbor out of the alley again when he does something dumb with his Dodge pickup in the alley.

Decent little trail, got a few spurs going off of it, but I didn't try any today - didn't have any backup. It's just a nice little family drive up to a pretty nice campsite. I may pull my pop-up trailer there in the spring.

Nothing better than spending the holiday on the trail with family. She looks very comfortable back there

I'm so happy with the way she takes to the trails. She fell asleep on Johnny Park too. She does get a bit bored though, so next summer I'll have to make sure that she can run around at the stops. Just wish I could get my wife as fired up to go wheeling.

Tricia does like to go riding in the Jeep though. She's all for (trying) to climb up into my rig. The back seat is just a bit too high for her to get into still...especially after the lift.

Don't feel too bad about your wife not being psyched for wheeling...few women are. If you find one I call dibs
