Shocking work done, help needed.

I have recently had fitted an RE BB to my 98 ZJ and the twit who fitted it put the rear shocks on upside down. I have read through threads on here and it seems that it is not important which way the rear ones go but I have a lot of bounce when I go over a speed bump in the rear end whereas the front is pretty solid.
Could this be because the shocks are a lot stiffer than stock, or the front compensates for engine weight and control whilst the rear is more for comfort?
I am only concerned coz the shocks blatently say on the bottom "this way up" with an arrow now pointing at the ground
Also if it is an issue will I be able to remove the shocks without raising the vehicle onto jack stands if I support the side I am working on with a jack under the rocker?

I dont think you will need to jack the car at all to unbolt and turn around the shocks. The weight of the car is supported by the springs, the shocks are just bolted on. If you can get to the bolts, and if the bolts will come loose, then it will be easy job to turn them over. Shocks are pretty much the easiest component in the suspension system to replace, (except the rear shocks on a TJ which require you to drop the damn gas tank to get off).

Yeah thanks mate. It was simple enough, I swapped them round to be the right way up and now it is great. Feel a lot more ballanced and proper when going over those pesky speed humps.
Only took 45 minutes to do that and straighten out my steering wheel.
All in a lunch hour too, so I am happy.

For the future...Twin tube shocks have to be mounted the right way, and monotube shocks can be mounted upside down or right side up.
