Shifter knob removal on a '95 ZJ?

Yes this is my first post, and I did do a search to see if this has been covered somewhere - and no dice.

On my '95 Grand Cherokee I need to remove my shifter knob in order to get the plastic bezel around the shifter off. I do not see any screws or any clips holding it on and don't want to break anything, so if someone could please tell me how to remove the shifter knob I would SO much appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!

Pull really hard.

Seriously.

Don't twist it, just pull it straight up, it'll come off. It goes on the same way, nothing special involved, just make sure it goes all the way down on the shaft or it won't work properly.

Does this also work on the WJ? Just curious, I was thinking about adding a hurst shifter...you know for another 10-15 horses
