sector shaft difference

I need a sector shaft from a ZJ for a project car. I have found one from a WJ. Is there a difference in the lower sector shaft from a ZJ to a WJ? I've read some of the articles on the u-joints gong bad, should I stay away from a used shaft? What is a good option from used?

To my knowledge, sector shafts do not have U-joints. The sector shaft is the splined shaft that protrudes from the steering box that the pitman arm attaches to.

Maybe my terminology is incorrect. What I'm looking for is the shaft that connects the steering gear box to the steering column.

That's what promted my question. I found safts from both a 2000 and a 1998. The mode calls for a shaft from a 1998, but I've been told the shafts are the same from 93 to 03. The shaft n the 2000 has low miles, a real plus. Thet's were my question originates. Is the lower shaft from a ZJ and WJ the same? or at least similar in respect to length and upper/lower connectors?

No idea if they are the same but since ZJ's and WJ's rarely use the same parts I highly doubt it. Get the one from a '98 and be sure that way.
