Every now and then I get a sound from the drivetrain on my 2002 GC that sounds like I am driving over a rumble strip. The sound only lasts for maybe 1 sec at a time and I only notice it when driving around town. At first I thought it was irregularities in the road surface but now I'm not so sure. I can't determine where in the drivetrain the sound comes from.
Anyone come across this themselves before?

Dirty tranny fluid and filter. I had a t-bird that did that, I called it my automatic warning.
As soon as I would change them it would stop for another 40K miles.
