RPM Drop at 60-70 mph, Sporadic stalling, tough restart

98 ZJ 4.0L engine. All stock, 186000. My Jeep will drop all RPMs while driving on the highway and most of the time will recover in 5-10 seconds. When it doesn't recover the vehicle stalls. At low speeds during city driving it will stall and take 10 min and several tries to restart. I have been through the stall forum on here and replaced distributor cap, battery, fuel pump. It isn't throwing any CEL codes and there are none stored. I did all the cleaning and connecter checking as well. I am at a loss and my favorite mechanic (dad) lives 2000 mi away now. I'm a 25 yr old woman so you can figure out what kind of help I get from most SoCal mechanics. Please help!!! I love my beast too much to give up on her..... Plus I can't afford a new one.

Sounds like the PCM is shutting off.

Most common causes are internal PCM failure, failure of connectors at the PCM, Crank sensor.

When it stalls, what do the fuel and battery gauges do? Tach and speedo?

Do you see the CEL flash when it recovers from a rolling stall?

How are you reading the codes, with a reader or key trick?
