Rough Country Winch Plate & Winch

I just picked these up last week. I went with their ZJ winch plate and one of their 9500lb winches with Synthetic rope.

Winch:

Mount:
http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-zj-...late_1049.html

Plate Installion: Very simple bolt on process other than trimming the holes in the frame for the bracketry.

Bumper Trimming: Sawzaw isn't the correct tool for this as I found out the hard way. I ended up with an Exacto knife and an hour of cutting.

Winch Install: Easy as pie. Simple hook up the appropriate cables, bolt it to the plate, and connect it to the battery. The wireless remote sure makes it handy.

That looks great, for the price you can't beat it. I'm trying to talk my friend into getting this rather than dropping the $800 for a winch bumper for his ZJ. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up to some abuse.

I have had that winch since the first introduced it. I love it, especialy the wireless remote. I am also a big fan of synthetic now over the steel lines I have had in the past. What tires do you have on. I have both Pro comp X terrains . and now M.T. claws up front. but yours look like a cross between them both.

Just ordered the same winch and plate. The price was right!

BTW, the RC website says 96-98 ZJ for plate, but vendor says a mistake and it will fit my 94. So I guess my install is going to be a little different due the bumper fascia difference.

The only thing I can think is that maybe they didn't have an older one to confirm fitment on. We do this as a MFG too because you can't get your hands on the other year group to confirm.

i put one on my 95. it bolted up just fine.

but their instructions for cutting the bumper are for a 96 - 98. so they didn't work for me when it came time to cut. i just eyeballed it. it was close. kinda. take your time and measure correctly
