Rock Krawler Shocks ?

Has anyone run them before ?

IRO is selling some RK monotube shocks for 50 beans for a WJ with 6.5" lift, thought I might grab them. Anyone have any info on them? I haven't found sqaut searching around, was actually wondering what they look like even.

They're 19" collapsed with built in bump stops so that would be perfect for when I get my 35's.

When I got my RK long arm in December, DC4WD told me that RK quit making shocks and sent Rubicon Express shocks in their place.

yeah I had RK shocks. They came with my 4" SA kit from them. I blew 3 of them within a year. So much for internal bumpstops. They were the worst shocks i've ever had. Get the RE twin tubes for the same price and be satisfied.

Its 50 bucks for 2 but with shipping its 65. I guess if they're that crappy I wont bother, equivalent RE's have another 2" of travel I think so maybe I will just wait then.

I've been running the 6" RK shocks for over 2 years now without a problem. Wheel them about twice a month.

I'm a little worried cus I'm only at about 5.5" even with the bump stops that I may blow them out.

if you have correct bumpstoppage then you should be good. Their lift was so poorly designed that even going over speedbumps these shocks would bottom out, which im sure helped in their death. They rode like crap, but I bet they wouldn't give out on you like mine did if you were nice to them.

thats because they are cheap blaine, but it seems like Nickerdoodle is trying to go a cheap route, and even the twin tubes are a step up from the RK's.

I dont know about the 4.5" shocks, but I run over speed bumps in and out of my base everyday at 20-25 and they just glide over them like they are hardly there. I havnt run any other shocks on my jeep so I cant compare them. They ride smooth and soak up bumps easily. Dont know what I'll replace them with when they go.

My RK shocks for my lift were drop shipped separately from the manufacturer - the rears came in Heckethorn boxes and the fronts came with Rough Country stickers. The only problem with them is they destroyed 2 sets of front upper shock bushings, I finally replaced them with the set that came off the stocker Monroes and they've been good since.

If they're a step down from the TT's I'm definately not going to get them, I just thought that IRO was just wanted them gone and they might have been a little better than the TT's cus they are monotube. I just wish the re monotube flexed as much as the TT's cus I'd just get a set of 4 of those then
