rim and tires size Q

got a new set of tires a bit ago and thier 11.5 wide. should these fit out on a 7" rim or would be it a better idea to go grab a set of 8" wide wheels.

right now i got 10.5 on the 7" rim and it looks fine so i was thinkin it should be ok, just wanted some input though

I think they will work but i wouldnt air down to much to go wheeling, 8" rim would be better IMO.

11.50 wide tires on 7" wide wheels is perfect.

Not true.

You're less likely to unseat a tire with a 7" wide wheel vs. an 8" wide wheel.

The narrower wheel holds onto the tire bead better. Its harder to push the tire bead inwards and unseat it with the narrower wheel. If you've ever mounted or dismounted tires, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I see what you're saying, but it seems like on a very narrow rim the bead would tend to push itself out rather than in. I'm not arguing with you, just kind of thinking out loud.

I always just play it safe and get a width that I know for a fact will work with my tire

3.75 to 4 inches of backspacing is optimal on ZJs.
