Reverse Creaking Noise

When I go in reverse with the wheel turned either left or right there is a creaking noise which sounds like its coming from the front left (drivers side), only happens in reverse, we put it up on a lift and tried this and the noise went away, replaced BOTH front axles, the suspension is tight and nothing seems wrong or even loose to even replace but i don't want to replace everything for no reason hence trying to narrow down whats wrong...if i'm in reverse going, and i throw it into neutral real quick the creaking noise is still there...i know there's a problem with my rear driveshaft already as it has a symptom that one of the tsb's point out but this creaking noise sounds like the front end of the car or so i think did some searching and nothing points to anything similar that i can find...

I had this problem too once. Turns out mine was in the rear. It was caused by a failing rear wheel bearing.

Well, you might want to have a look at the balljoints. I know on my f-i-l's Lincoln Town Car that he had several years back, it was a really bad creaking, people would run away from the car, it literally sounded like the front end was going to pull out from under it. This only happened when the wheels were turned hard left or right. No one could get a handle on what was wrong until a little old lady, whose father used to run an airport livery, was walking by and said that when she worked for him (back in the '40s), whenever a car started acting like that, he'd just shake his head and say, "Balljoints." Turned out that was exactly what was wrong with my f-i-l's Lincoln. Replaced them, fixed it. Worth a look, maybe?

thats what i thought at first, but it doesn't do it when the car is in drive (forward) only when its in reverse which is why the shops said it cant be ball joints and they found no play in them either soooo confused
