reseting the computer...

alright. yes i know that you can reset the engine computer orrr PCM or whatever but disconnecting the neg. side of the battery. but instead i would like to rest it without screwing with my radio settings on my pioneer HU. can i pull a fuse that will reset it? and also which fuse would it be. i tried but i didnt see any that really related to the engine computer. i have a 99 wj 4.0 if that changes anything.

Is it really such a big deal to reprogram your stations?

Ive seen an adapter with a 9v battery that plugs into your cig lighter plug and saves your radio settings when you disconnect the battery..

Was either in a summit catalog or a harbor freight one..

Yes pulling the fuse is a smart way to clear the PCM. However, I like removing the battery cable as it forces me to clean them, which should be done once a year.

In the pic below there is a full row of three mini fuses.(yellow, yellow, red) The center yellow one (20 amp) is the one for the PCM/ECU. Underneath the cover is a bunch of labels. PCM is not one of them, but engine control is. That’s the one. I mention this as the pic is for a 1994 power distribution center and newer one may be different.

Sorry for the out of focus shot, but it is dark outside right now.
