Either the one that comes with it or a new one, do not use your old one.

Want to swap an NP242 or NP231 into your ZJ? Here's how:

Crank sensor for sure! Do it while the tranz is pulled. About a 5 min job.

ok, any type of lines, fittings? Whats the best way o add fluid? I mean do you have to fill up the torque converter separatly or do you dump it all down the dipstick tube?

The converter will take almost a quart. Good idea to fill it up first. Just make sure it gets seated all of the way before installing. If there is a gap when lining up the tranz do not suck the bell housing up tight with the bolts or force it flush. If the converter is seated properly it should line up and seat flush.

Make sure to flush the lines and cooler. NAPA sells a product called Kooler Klean that works well. Also might be a good time to add a secondary cooler if you don't have one.
