Removing Dealer's Decal ?

Does anyone know the correct way to properly remove that decal the dealer places on the rear of your new vehicle. I just bought a used Cherokee and I noticed they removed the original one & replaced it w/ their's. So it can be done, I just don't know how.

The reason is I bought my Jeep in another town where my friend lives, yet would like to get it serviced, after the warrenty is over locally. It would be nice not to have another dealer's nameplate on it @ that point. Thanks.

i take mine off with a sharpened Popsicle stick and goo gone. once its off hit it with rubbing compound to take off any tell tail scratches in the clear coat.

they peel off quite nicely. A heat gun helps but can damage paint quickly so a blow dryer on high will soften the glue and then just peel it off. If there is glue residue just goo gone or scrub with some hot water and soap.

Get a few new razor blades, and that decal will come right off. As long as you keep the blade level across the surface you won't scratch the paint. I've used that method with all my vehicles, and never had a scratch yet.

why's it matter what dealer you bought it at? they make a crap ton of money on service compared to vehicles.

First - WD-40 might do it. Second - when the dealer enters your VIN he sees the history of your vehicle -including where it was purchased. If you have it worked on at different dealer they might remove the sticker and put theirs on.

I work at a ford/jeep dealer and we've NEVER done that before.
