Reciever Drier

Yesterday I took my Jeep into an AC mechanic...........my ac is the ONLY thing not working on mine Thank You Lord........and they tell me that my Drier (black can like thing with 2 hoses going to it) has a hole in it and a new one runs $297.31. There are no good pull it places here in Everett. Does anyone have a good link to where I can get one...I just feel as if that the price is too high and want to find out. Thanks. Also...is this an easy fix to replace it on my own. It was going to cost $387.25 for parts (incl freon charge) and $136.81 in labor. I am hoping to save and do it myself.

If you do it yourself, actually pretty easy job, you'll need the plastic tool to undo the internal spring at the evap. and also some PAG oil to put into the accumulator. Just change the pressure switch over to the new one, and also you'll still need someone to evacuate the system and do a charge.

Advance has them for like $108.. If you have one locally, it usually takes a day to order the part..

that website link you posted shows for $93 plus 7 for shipping. Better than 200 plus. I will give it a try.
Thank you very much.

Ok, I hate to totally hijack your thread, but reading that you are in Everett I have to ask. I am coming up there for my Cousins wedding next month, and will have one free day. Is there any good wheeling in that area? I will be in Seattle, Everett, and Snohomish (no idea how to spell that) Uncle lives in Seattle, Cousin in Everett, Wedding in Snohomish.

And yes, crazy crazy crazy me, I am driving the WJ all the way up there from Fort Collins Colorado. 18-22 hours estimated drive time. Good thing we have 3 drivers and are leaving at about 5 pm wed. night. We can drive through crappy states at night and won't have to see how boring they are.

well I just bought the drier from ackits.com and will get it in 3-5 days at a total cost of $102. Now I just need to figure out how to remove the old and install the new. If I do it I save myself $79.
As for wheeling spots....I would recommend sending a private message to Snowboarder (Brandon I think) and ask him. He lives in Tacoma just south of Seattle and goes out all the time so he could answer you better. Tell him I sent ya.
Hope that helps you. Have fun. Maybe we all could hit the trails together.
