rear main seal

Hi all,
quick question. I appear to have a leak from the rear main seal on my 94 GC. I have tried getting estimates at different places for repair and seem to be getting the run around. Does anyone know more or less what the range in price should be? Also should I try to fix this myself(I am not that mechanically proficient.)

I had mine replaced in WV by a dealership for around 600.

cool thanks for the info guys. I had already seen that thread but was not sure if I wanted to try it, because I have very recently turned into a "do it yourselfer". On a lighter note I changed all my backend lights on the jeep today and found it was very easy(the autoshop wanted 70 bucks). I ended up just buying the bulbs and did it myself.

This was a great accomplishment for me because I am not mechanically proficient.

Just waiting on my haynes (spelling) to see what else I can play with.
