Rear door won't latch

I opened the door now it just won't latch.
It looks like it is in the right position, but acts just like it would if you were pulling on the inside handle and trying to shut the door.
What do ya think is it a rod stuck, or is the problem inside the latch ???

Use a screwdriver to try and move the latch while workin the door handle. See if its locked up. I've had a latch get set backwards after it gets shut to hard before, hope its that simple for you.

Take off the panel and look inside. There is a rod that pushes into a small plastic bracket, commonly falls out. Very similar to the rear hatch.

Well I couldn't really find any thing wrong with it.
I think the springs in there a little weak, and it was gummed up.
Took it all apart, cleaned it up, lubed it with lithium grease, and it works good now.
I am glad !! I took it apart very slowly, cuz the little springs started popping out, but I got them all back where they belong.

Mine do the same thing in temps below 10-15F. Just gummed up with old dried lube. I spray liquid wrench into the latch while opening/closing the door several times. Then spray white lithium grease in and exercise it some more.

So far I haven't needed to remove the latch.
