Your diff will have 3.55's or 3.73's depending on having tow package or not. The same goes for the '96 4.0. You will need to verify the gear ratios match before swapping.

Edit: That tag picture is hard to read, but if it is 53007557, then it should have come from the factory with 3.55s and no Trac-Lok. The "55" on the second row also indicates 3.55 gears. (11 = 4.11, 55 = 3.55, 73 = 3.73) If I were you, I'd be checking to see what's stamped on the ring gears to make sure.

hmmm i think i put 373s in my rear which would mean i had 355 in the front my jeep is a 5spd if that makes a difference i think im just gonna get 411's or 456's for it so i know what gears are in it.i just dont know what gears i wanna run in it i use it as a daily driver when its not broken lol. but i do wheel it every now and then would i be better off with 410's or 411's? over the 456's?

Make sure whatever you do, you match the front axle.

I wouldn't go any numerical number higher than 3.73 unless you get bigger tires.

If at first you don't succeed, use more speed.

If you get 33s then go with 4.56 gears. Your speedo will be mostly accurate, and you'll get the power you need to the wheels.
