rc control arm play

i'v been having a groaning/creaking coming from somewhere in my jeep, never really thought about it.

now theres a screeching when i hit bumps so i crawled under and start shaking things intill i found the problem. my rough country control upper rear control arms have play in the johnny joint end, side to side but also up and down. i'm going to go tighten them up, but if the up and down is an issue i don't want to tighten it and forget about it then have them fail on the highway or something. thoughts?

you should be able to tighten them up or maybe your preload wasn't enough to begin with. im sure RC has rebuild kits available for cheap

If you can't tighten them contact RC, they should warranty those for you. Had a similar issue with mine and they were great about sending me new ones for free.
