RC 4" vs. Zone 4" lift - Casual offroading

Looking to lift. I just bought this GC and feel like a soccer mom. I used to have an F150 on 35's. I don't do any hardcore rock climbing or anything like that. WIll I be okay with one of these cheaper lifts? I was searching around and saw that the bushings or something on the Zone lift might cause it to squeak. I dont know if I could handle that. If I got the RC I would have a little extra cash for some extras that I might need.

I am gonna put some 265/70/17's on, maybe do some wheel spacers for now.

Which lift out of these is best for a non-rock climbing, casual off roading person?

i have the rc lift and i love it. i am a mild offroader as well and it serves its purpose well. it looks great and rides great and i had money for new tires. i think that it is a great deal for the money!

The zone kit by a mile. The RC kit cheaps out in too many critical areas, do it at least somewhat right and get the zone kit.

RC kit will need some add ons out of the box. add adjustable front and rear track bars and the RC kit is better than the Zone kit.

A buddy of mine just got the Zone kit and we put it on in a few hours. Install was a breeze and the kit looked beefy all around. I was pretty impressed with it for the price.

No rear track bars on the WJ. I know you know that though, you just didn't see it was a WJ.

The only two differences from looking at the two kits online was that RC has a drop bracket for the track bar where Zone has the preffered adjustable track bar, and the RC kit comes with a drop pitman arm which helps with bumpsteer issues and the Zone does not. (BUT, from what I've read, if you use the drop pitman arm then you MUST use the track bar drop bracket as well. This might indicate that if you use the adjustable track bar, the dropped pitman arm is not necessary) That being said, my RC kit with the JEEPFORUM discount was $503 including shipping (just ordered yesterday). Add on an adjustable JKS for $150 including shipping and I'm right at $653. The Zone lift is $699 plus shipping (from what I could tell) which would total out around $750. So... is the Zone worth $100 more? Perhaps if you like their shock graphics that much better.

Drop pitman is not need with an adjustable tack bar. Only with the tack bar bracket because the track bar and drag link will no longer be parallel.

The Zone kit does come with lower front control arms which I believe the RC does not. I do not like non-adj. front control arms but his something over the RC kit.

the RC lift does comes with lower control arms.

if u go with the rc, definately get an adjustable track bar and leave your original pitman arm on. thats the advice that GraKee99 gave me and it is so much better now that i have done it

Oh never really looked at it much. That is interesting. And I'm glad I could help you out.

This is what would worry me. I would want adjustable arms but that is why I am piecing everything together slowly.

Yep, my RC comes with lower CA's, non adjustable- just like zone. Again, buying the RC AND buying an adjustable track bar gives you the same kit as zone for $100.00 less
