Ran the Heep on the dyno today

note: i have my front driveshaft out and will be rebuilt within the week (bad slip joint)

best run of the day was 171.6 horsepower and 240.69 lb/ft of torque and max speed of 118.

i was fairly suprised with the outcome even with 4" lift and 265/75 MTs

hope others can use this to find the general power of their rig after lift and tires (3.73 gears)

Wow, that's actually way more than I thought it'd be. I've got the same size tire, this is good info, thanks!!

What does lift height have to do with HP? Tire size, sure, but height?
171 is pretty good, any bolt-ons planned?

lift height has to do with drive line angles. not much of a loss but still some (from what i hear)

i have KN CAI and flowmaster

and yes at the wheels (rear) because the front DS is out

I think I remember you saying a while back that you think you have about 300hp at the wheels right now? Or is that at the crank? Or am I completely mistaken?

I have never ran on the dyno...I do believe (from mechanics and other racers knowledge) that I am at the wheels over 300. My new mods that I am planning will (should) place me at 400 or more. I feel that will be enough for the time. I will one day get another Supra and mod the crap out of it like my old one and tone down the jeep...but it sure is nice having the power to beat most people I play with (controlled) and still look like a sleeper.
I am sure that my sons on here will want my old stuff when I replace them.

I thought the wj 4.7 were at 220hp or so standard at the wheels???? didnt think that it would be reduced by that much with the tyres??

Not a chance. They're 235hp at the crank. And a normal RWD vehicle loses about 20% of its power to the wheels. Which would be ~190-195 to the wheels. Minus some more drivetrain loss for the 4wd.

also some lost through the tcase because its supposed to be AWD. as far as horsepower i could give a rats..you know what. its all about torque in offroading, and 240lb/ft is good enough for me
