Rack and Pinion

Do they have a rack and pinion steering conversion for a 1994 Grand Cherokee ?

WiCkeDuDe 07-17-2009 10:01 AM

I wouldnt say that is at all feasible on a solid front axle.

Can you go into more detail on what your trying to do and why you want to change your steering?

I was trying to get away from the straight axle mainly because I use this vehicle for a daily driver. However, its probably not worth the time or money to convert.

"Trying to get away from the straight axle"?

So you are doing an IFS conversion? I don't see how a rack and pinion would benefit you in any way whatsoever.

CLNinja 07-21-2009 04:58 AM

if you want IFS... sell your Jeep

ratmonkey 07-21-2009 02:13 PM

it's not the solid axle making it ride bad.

good springs and good, new, shocks are where you should be heading.

Don't forget control arm bushings.

I'm just going to go slit my wrists now. And yes, I know its down the block, not across the street.

Where would you even begin to figure out how to convert a 94 ZJ To IFS. And Why?
