Quick help needed please!

Hi everyone my brother has a 96 GC 4.0 and his muffler fell last night. I have a 4.7 muffler from an 04 GC sitting around, will it work? I do not mind for it to fit perfectly. I just need to know of it will work fine flow wise. I will then probably do a side exhaust setup for him.
Thank you for your help already cheers!

should be able to make any muffler work. side dump is no good for offroading though. if its a street squirrel then its fine.

The 4.7 is bigger so I don't see any reason it wouldn't work. Might need some adapters for the pipe but flow-wise I think it would be ok. If you are doing custom exhaust work almost anything can work as long as it isn't too small. Just watch the inlet and outlet offsets and the direction of flow.
