Quick compatibility question, axle housing

Need entire axle housing, will the dana 30 from a cherokee work? I believe the year is early 90s.

As long as you get the carrier and ring and pinion, it'll bolt in. It'll also be a bolt in for the zj as well as be stronger than stock because it's the hp30.

People need to stop talking out their rears.

I forgot though, I'm running tow gears (3.73), isn't that going to have problems, or is gearing in the front not going to be a problem? What gears are going to be running in the d30 on the cherokee?

It is possible that it'll have 3.73, but that was rare. It more than likely either has 3.55's or 4.11's. Look at the tag, but if it does have it then you're good to go.

that's where i got my HP30 from, it made the swap pretty cheap since i didn't have to re-gear two axles.

Well the plan fell through, my friend ended up selling the cherokee for a good price, so I'm happy for him anyway.

I did find this though, I know the control arm bracket is messed, but the question still holds, will this be compatible (read: bolt up) to a zj?
