so i have a 98 5.9 limited, i just picked up a parts jeep, its a 97 4.0L zj with a dana 35 rearend and a 242 case, i am wanting to swap the t-case and front drive shaft (get rid of my front cv joint) into my 5.9, but my t-case is a isy and the 242 is an esy, i thought this was no big deal, until i double checked on here today and im getting mixed info, some say you have to shorten the rear drive shaft? some say because they are both 96+ ZJs that either shaft will work? i would also like to put my 249 back into the 97 and sell it again when i'm done with it, the 97 is stock (no lift) my 5.9 has a 3" lift (if that matters or helps) i would really like to be able to do this swap without any custom work. if you guys could help me out that would be awesome, what can i do?
