Question About a 4.0 engine swap

K im turning to the wisdom gods, I bought a 2001 jeep grand Cherokee with a blown 4.0 engine. Its locked up and their is water in the oil, Totally done for. Ive been looking for a engine and i cant find one for less than 800 dollars, But yesterday i found a engine that mite work. It is a 2000 4.0 out of a jeep Cherokee, Not the grand the guy says its electronic ignition, "NO Distributor" but i cant find a cross reference for my engine. Also is their any way i can make this engine work if its not compatible ?? PLEASE any info would help Thanks in advance TOM.....

It'll work. Just use all your Grand Cherokee electronics, and some sensors.

Good luck!

check the crankshaft tone wheel to make sure it is the same number of teeth as the one you have, not sure but some of them were different.
