Quesiton from Sweden

First of all, please excuse my bad English !

This is a funny thing...

I will have a look at a Grand Cheroce model 1994

The funny thing is that the the car is imported from USA
2002, now the question...

Is there any big differens betwen USA and Europa model ?

Experts! wath is the most important thing to check before
the deal ? the car is in god shape, but i hope ther is some one
of you experts who like to help me further...

Best regards
from Swede

check the vc in the transfer case (drive it in a figure eight after it has warmed up) if it binds it might mean you need a new vc which is expensive.

binding = crunching, grinding, it will NOT be smooth.

like a car - when you turn in a car it is smooth (feeling through the steering wheel). binding you would feel it in the steering wheel.

There are differences, yes. Though not necessarily big ones. For example, there is a headlight autoleveling feature on European models not available on US models. But for all practical intents and purposes, they are the same vehicles.
If the Jeep you are looking at has the Quadra-Trac transfer case (TC), the method it uses inside the transfer case to transmit power between the front and rear axles is called a viscous coupler (VC), which is similar to a clutch in that it allows slippage between the front and rear drivetrains. If the VC (in the TC) has been abused or subjected to sustained hard acceleration, it will lose it's ability to slip, so that when you turn the vehicle at low speeds (like in a parking lot), the front end will bind up or hop. It is an unmistakeable event caused by the tires hopping to release the power being sent to it by the damaged TC.
Sometimes the English is too hard for people in this country too.

Welcome to the forum. If you go to this web site >
http://www.jeep.com/wccsapp/universa...ull&category=U
and provide the VIN (vehicle Identification Number). Ask for a build sheet. The build sheet will list all of the equipment and options on the jeep. You might have to provide a USA address to get this. Chrysler will email the build sheet to you.
If that link doesn't work try this one http://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/j...m%28%27R%27%29 and click on "send us an Email". Good Luck.

Damn, that translation utility you are using is a riot!
At least if you can read Swedish it is!
For those of you who can't (which I assume is all but me and Swed40) try to translate some text to swedish and then translate it back to english.

Tjena!

Oh I did that right away. And of course got some of the funniest phrases back
But I figure I had two things going for me, one: most people on here don't speak Swede, and two: bad as it might be, I bet it was easier for Swede40 to understand than my English!
