QTII with vari-loc
I'm going shopping today for a used WJ...
![]() I know QD is preferred, but I'm not a big off-roader, I need this vehicle to pull my boat, so I'm considering QTII models as well. I see on WJJeeps that the QTII could be equipped with a LSD rear axle. Short of getting the tester stuck somewhere, is there an easy way to tell if a model is equipped with a vari-loc rear?

Since you are shopping, it will be difficult to get the info you want in a timely manner. A couple of points to consider: (1) since a Vari-Lok rear was an option that few people ordered, they will be rare, and (2) the front Vari-Lok in QD has virtually no disadvantage in comparison with an open front differential since the front is not powered unless the rear wheels slip.

Thanks. Moot point as I just bought a mint 00 Limited with QD. 1 owner, private sale, regularly maintained (full records), 80K miles. The best part is it came from Seattle, so it' got virtually no rust. That's not easy to find in the used market up here...
About the build sheet: Does DCX send to Canada? The form only lists the 50 states. Does it matter what I put down? Do they just reply by email? |

they reply by e-mail, give them any address from US, and they'll not ask.

How about 1600 Pennsylvania Ave? Think that'll raise an eyebrow?
