So I gave it another try last night. Pulled the shifter back all the way, the "LO" light popped up on the screen so then I put it in reverse. It seemed to work for a brief second but then it made a little jutter and then it sounded (and felt) like the gears and chain weren't meshing but just hitting each other...

I feel bad doing it so I probably won't try again but anybody have any idea as to what could be going on?

Sounds like a TC rebuild coming up. I hope you got it at good price to cover the TC rebuild.

97 ZJ Limited w/ a 5.2L at 154k for $2500 The thing has EVERY option on it and it all works with the exception of the AC (and apparently 4-Lo haha) when its in Hi it drives great drivetrain is very solid
