$1400 for my 5.9 with 130,000 miles. It was filthy but mechanically pretty sound. Lots of electrical gremlins, though.

I bought mine from a guy on CL for $1400. Had 183K on it back in Oct. 2010, only has 188K on it now, 2 years later. Has a banged up quarter panel but still drives fine and hasn't caused me any serious problems. Been a good vehicle and I plan on keeping it until it gives out on me. Regular maintenance done so it should last another 10 years.

... I just picked up a 1995 ZJ 4.0 4x4 . It has the full time 4 wheel drive .
I GAVE 400 BUCKS for it. The trans was not shifting .. So I figured it need the sensors about 200 + to fix. But I took it to a cheap John Shop and got screwed.. They didn't check it out an pulled the trans got it apart and nothing was wrong inside. So I got a new rubber seal & Paper kit put in it. And it still had to have the 2 sensors I figures it needed. So I have about $1000.00 in the trans repair. Since it had the full time transfer case . The guy I got it from had sold the tires off it. As he was about to part it out. So It has nice Honey Comb wheels on it, So I put a set of new Goodyear Wranglers on it. $364.00 for them. I've not spent any thing else on it so far. But will have a few more items to fix. But the Cel was off tonight.
..

.. My 1st ZJ was a 2 wheel drive . I got it from a customer that could not afford to fix it while I worked at the Jeep Dealership. It was a 1998 ZJ Limited it had 160,000 mile on it . The head was busted I gave 365.00 for it and spent about 800.00 more for a head & new tires. I drove it 2 years & gave it to my Grand Daughter.
... She Hates it. Not nice enough .. Tuff ****.

... I thought I had another traded for .1996 it needed front drive axles and a rear window. But when I got there to trade for it . The kid had changed his mind..
.. I may go back an see if he still has it.. He was rather squarely.

1996 ZJ Unlimited= Free four years ago. The PO let a transmission line pop off the cooler and assumed the transmission was toast. He called me to scrap it. Total investment so far on my end for repairs, replacement, registration is around $1500.

Been super inactive here lately... ZJ dead and all. I got mine for $250 Was abandoned on my property. I thank that guy that left it there. If it wasn't for him I would still to this day hate Jeeps. Now I can't get enough of them.
