power lock problem

Hi Everybody,
My girlfriends 97 grand cherokee's drivers side door wont lock or unlock with the switch or remote, it'll lock/unlock manually so I took the door panel off driver and passenger side to compare and I lubed up everything in the drivers side. It seems when you hit the switch you can hear the motor make a really faint noise but it wont throw the actuator rods(compared to passenger side where it immediately throws the lock open/closed), everthing is connected and running smooth so I think the motor has crapped out. any thoughts?
Have any of you changed theses motors before? Very difficult? Any Tips?
thanks.

They are pretty easy to change. Just keep the panel off and get to it.

Very easy to change out. I'm on my third one that's done what you're seeing. The motor lets out a little fart, but doesn't move the arm. Pull the door panel, peel back the vapor barrier, reach back in there and flip up the little jesus clips holding the rods in place, remove the torx head bolts from the edge of the door. Installation is reverse of removal.

Definitely not bad at all. Hopefully you don't have the crappy luck that I have. Pretty much resigned myself to finding another way to make the power locks work

You could hire some midgets but, I'm sure there is some law against that.

Some of those midgets eat a lot! I can barely afford to keep my kid fed!

Dealership or boneyard. Not available at Autozone/Checker/Etc as far as I know.
