OK, so this post is generated from the infamous DW or Death Wobble. Ive been lifted for over 9 years now and 262K. Past few months had issues where Ive invested in all new tires, alignment, IRO track bar and bracket, new IRO coils and insulator pads and control arms. Not all at once but over part several. Last night had DW on a back road. Got home to do yet another inspection under her and seen some scaly flakes and hence the POKE POKE. Went right thru. Driver side unibody giant rot hole AND a crack/split up side of control arm frame mount. Now for pics

I did grind and weld. Weld wasnt great because I couldn't clean all the rust and I was upside down but its better than it was.

Might be time to find a new Jeep and start transferring parts. Welds look good but I would not trust it. Thats a lot of rust . Maybe a 9er in your future

Inside of that hole looks pretty clean. Check out the rest of the structural points. You might be ok.

I had a lincoln towncar that was very clean except where the air conditioner condensation had been dripping into the frame rails for years. The bottom of the frame rotted out in a small area about the size of your hole. Took it to a frame shop, they cleaned and patched like yours, maybe a little beefier, and it was good as new.

That really sucks if you end up losing your jeep, you might take it to a shop that specializes unibody or frame damage and get them to look over it? Maybe get somebody with experience to check her out befote you dump her? :/

Well the good thing is I know how to weld and have easy access to steel. I suppose i should carry both with me now. The real good thing is my DW has been gone since i fixed that. Can you imagine the whole CA and unibody was shaking from the rot and crack.........I just had it at Town Fir Tire for an alignment last week too. Glad the tech seen the big freaking hole and warned me. TOOL!!!
