please help!!!! 97 zj died and wont restart

so i was out off roading with some family and my jeep randomly died it is a 97 with 5.2 all the guages are not working now and when i turn it over it wont fire up the fuel pump works not sure about spark. i used my buddies code reader before and it worked fine now its saying it cant link to it. any input would really really help. thank you all in advanced

Check wiring to O2 sensors for damage

Sounds like the ecm wiring is loose or ecm is toast. Classic signs, not all gauges working, scanner not communicating.

Check the o2 wiring. It can short out when damaged and take out the pcm fuse.
It can also destroy the pcm. 50/50 shot on that.

Yep had this happen to me when the stock exhaust fell off. O2 wires grounded out and blew a 15A fuse under the hood.

what fuse did you blow i popped one in the fuse block under the hood it was the small 20a fuse in the front middle of the fuse box. the second i put in a new fuse it blows. i put in a new crankshaft position sensor today and not a single thing has changed. plus the over head display reads -- for the mpg read out im really getting fed up with this please let me know if any of you have had this problem before and if you have let me know what fixxed it i could really use the help. thanks again guys

I've looked at the o2 sensor wiring with no signs of any wire damage

what fuse did you blow? get the number.

we need accurate, detailed information to help you. otherwise we're just going off of past experiences as to what's happened with other vehicles.

The IOD #20 fuse keeps blowing, that's what our buddy seemed to have figured out.

In the fuse box under the hood there is some relays some big fuses and 6 small fuses the fuse I blew was the one in the front middle

that covers a lot of circuits under the jeep. check all the wiring to the fuel pump, o2 sensors, and transmission.

it also powers the asd relay.
