Plasti-Dip the Hood Louvers?

hey guys, in case you didnt see my intro thread, im picking up a slate gray 5.9 limited this weekend. long story short, the paint on the hood louvers is pretty beat up. lot of clearcoat peeling and flaking. ive been thinking about whether to just remove them and have them repainted the factory color, or just do some kind of DIY and maybe plasti-dip them. just wondering if anyone ha plasti-dipped theirs and how it worked out.

please share some pics of yours if you have done this. thanks.

I had the ones that I got on Ebay painted along with my rear side vents. I was very impressed on how they turned out. Hope this helps.

I painted louvers for a guys niner. It's like dark shadow grey. It's just color match paint from auto parts stores.

Looks like your paint code is PG5 Hunter Green Met

Always thought about painting mine.. Mine are faded and are ugly... My Jeep has no paint issues anywhere asside from some minor scratchs.. But the louvers are ugly.. I just dont want to paint them a platinum silver from a can and not have them match up..

Before (Faded/cracked/peeling)

After (Black Plastidip) The spots you see are drops of water from washing them off.

Painted red on top of the plastidip:

I decided the red was too much and peeled the plastidip off and redid them with the plastidip. They're back to flat black now.

I painted mine with color match from the auto parts store. Oreilly's. Just get the code off the door. It won't account for sun fading but it's close enough. Scuff them up and do several coats then several coats of clear coat. Sand them if you want but I didn't care.

Sadly my doors the codes are all worn out.. I cant read a thing... What is the color code for the platinum silver 5.9
