Pinion angle.. am i thinking right?

Installed my transfer with SYE. Have a shaft angle of 15* and pinion angle of 5* (measured from lowest ujoint cap horizontal with ground).

Am I correct in assuming that extending my rear uppers till I have a 10* pinion angle i'll bring the shaft down to 10* also? Is that how it works or is my thinking off?

I'm aware I want 1-2* pinion down to compensate for cargo load but just making sure I understand correctly.
