PIN code

I've been asked by a foreign party where they can get a vehicle PIN code to enter into a scanner on a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo.

I've not heard of needing a PIN code on a scanner, but I've never used one on a Grand.

The best I can understand, he needs the PIN code to get to the error code.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Republic of Benin in W. Africa. No, not Craigslist.

It's possible the VN code, not sure.

Hello, I precise my probleme. I have to change the battery(drum kit) of my vehicule (jeep grand cherokee 2000 laredo )with the key in the contact. After all the electronique circuit is to cancel(deprogram). To re-initialize it, the scanner asks me for the pin code of the car which I do not have.
How may I obtain him(it)?

That sounds weird... If you can afford a WJ in West Africa, I would've thought you could afford maintnence on it.

The translation is not very clear, but the only reason for a PIN code that I know about is when a new ignition key is to be programmed. A Jeep dealership can do this easily, but a lock/key shop would have to have the PIN code.

Pretty sure you have to get it from the dealership. The whole thing seems a bit hinky.
