PCV Valve, tope of valve cover...

Ok, so i replaced my valve cover gasket yesterday. The problem I have is i broke the plastic vacuum plug towards the rear of the valve cover. I only broke the plastic rim not the actual tube that connects to the rubber tubing. I goes back in, and connects no problem. The question I have is, what exactly is this piece called and do you think i need to replace it???

I guess you have a 4.0?

No pcv valve on there..

Theres a CCV elbow and grommet..

You can pick them up a the dealer.. Not expensive.. I am somewhat certain the front elbow is a little different from the rear. But both elbows and grommets can be had for less then $20..

Yeah its the 4.0, and sorry meant ccv, like i said the elbow is intact, and the piece fits snug into the grommet but the plastic that sits on top of the grommet is broken...I dont see how this broken piece would prevent any further air but just curious...

So the ring at the bottom of the elbow is broken?

If the grommet is really hard I would go ahead and replace them.. In the process you might break it off more and end up removing the cover which sucks.. but thats up to you..

I suppose you could rtv around the ring if you wanted..

They are different front to back in color (one black and one grey) and the valve itself. It's not the end of the world, but try not to cross them up.

My front one is broken and taped off, and my rear one is missing the bottom grommet and the plastic hose is RTV'ed into the plastic. I was looking at some that seemed similar at Advance the other day, does anyone know if they are the same?

Want to swap an NP242 or NP231 into your ZJ? Here's how:

One more question:
How can I pull out the CCV? I tried to pull it, without success.
Are there some tips how to do it?

Thanks,
Avigdor
