Path of airflow hvac

Just wondering something, The airflow from my interior vents is weak when on ac, on heat is the airflow is noticably higher. My question is doesn't the air flow through the ac evaporator first then the heater core? Or is there two seperate paths one through the heater core and one through the a/c evap? Just trying to figure out if I have a blend door issue or a plugged evap coil.
the air is nice and chilled just low on CFM when a/c is on.
