Passenger door hinge is broken in half

Just bought my first Jeep yesterday, a virgin 92 Grand Cherokee Laredo with 82k, and am excited to build it to fit my lifestyle. With that being said, I have a door situation that I need to attend to, before it causes some damage. The door does all kinds of funky stuff, swings up in the air, makes a few horrible noises, and somehow still shuts.

The lower hinge on the passneger front door is snapped in two. It is on the door side from the pin, which makes me believe I can remove the door from the hinge, pull out the pin, install new hinge, and screw the door back on.

First, I have not found anywhere online to buy a hinge for a zj. Searched the forums, and found some people talking about going to a body shop and having it welded back together.

Anyone know where I can buy a hinge? Should I ditich the replacement idea and find a place to weld it back together?

I would definitely get this item at a junkyard. The cost of welding it would be more than a used hinge IMO.

I'm pretty sure that the GRAND Cherokee (the ZJ) didn't exist as a jeep model in '92. Also, your ID says XJ. You might want to the Cherokee forum before you buy a ZJ hinge for an XJ. But, in any case Welcome

Platinum... I was doing a bit of wiki work once I got home, and I was under the impression that the zj came out in 93, also... Then I looked at the title for the vehicle and it says 92. Interesting. Thanks for the heads up on my profile error.

Junk yard sounds like the place. To get the pin out of the hinge, do I need to grind the top off so it will slip out, or is there some sort of clip I have not noticed?
