Parking brake lever

I'm swapping the ZJ discs to my XJ Dana 44.. that's been modified to bolt in my ZJ.

These parking brake lever pieces should pivot on each other correct? Mine seems frozen by rust.. just free up and add a touch of grease?

Overland,
Yes they are (supposed to be) 2 pivoting pieces. Turns out they like to rust weld themselves into a single inoperable unit.
Check out this link:

Good writeup on R&R on zj e-brakes.
Definitely try to free them up first (to save the $), but they can up and break when trying to unfreeze.

Be sure to re-install with a good dose of grease and prob. check adjuster bolts too as they can go the rust route as well.
Good luck :)

Thank You! I'll check that link out a bit later.. taking a break from grinding on these caliper brackets.

Success... thanks again, was able to free them up and hit with a wire wheel. I'll grease them good since they live in the rubber boots.

Nice work. Always cool to fix your own stuff! :welder:
