Painted my wheels (pics)

My 95 ZJ Limited wheels looked like crap, ugly blotches where clearcoat came off and aluminum corrosion had set in. Well I've done only 1 wheel so far just to see how they would look painted black, here's a pic of the finished wheel. The gold part was fine so I left it, only did up the bare aluminum portions and left the bead edge aluminum just so I don't have to worry about the tire change chipping the black, for a last step I clearcoated the whole works. I'm not too keen about the chrome looking centercap may have to do something about that, but overall I think it looks way better.

hope this works??

That actually looks pretty good!
What was the process you used to add the black without touching the gold?

... and I agree, the center caps don't fit, although they don't look horrible, you should paint those black and add gold to the Jeep lettering. Ooh, ooh and get black lugs!

used a battery drill and a little wire wheel to remove what was left of clearcoat before I masked the gold. I wiped it all down with reducer before I primed.
Masking tape and a razor blade, a skinny coat of krylon primer followed by 1/2 can of krylon gloss black, followed by 1/2 can clearcoat after removing tape, this was all done in a 4 hr. start to finish, done in the comfort of my basement hideout. I'm going to start the next wheel just have to brave the cold and go out to get it.
