OPPS! Hood flew open at 50+
Rubber malet time,. Body shop wanted $1200 to fix
$140bucks later, parts from the dealer, and a little time on my part!
Almost good as new!

This happened to me too on the highway, luckily the hood catch caught it before it opened up. I was doing about 110 MPH on 495 and switched to an elevated lane, and im assuming the frame twisted and it popped open. Scared the sh*t outta me.

that seems to be pretty common with the ZJ's...happened to a friend of mine's (Swamp Boy on here). He did the permanent fix on his with a pair of drill through hood pins

can see the common corner bend up and hood pins here -
