Ok, this has got to stop

Ok, over the weekend I installed some upcountry springs, a pain because I hate spring compressors more then the dentist and paying taxes combined, so I disconnected the shocks and the sway bar to get more drop.

On the passenger side rear, whenever I go over a bump or hit a small pothole, there is a semi loud "cha clunk" sound. It is annoying as hell. I did the same procedure on all 4 wheels and its the only one doing it. Everything is tight (68ft lbs) spring is secured. Car seems to handle exactly the same... Any ideas?

They are bilstein 5100 shocks in the rear from kevins 2.5kit, and yes I have had teh shock sleeve mounting kit on for months with no problems.

try swapping the rear shocks side to side and see if the noise moves

i would look to make sure that nothing would hit on compression or extention like the sway bar endlinks.

check to see that the springs sit in the same "grooves" the old ones did
might just not be seated correctly

No disco, as for the springs, the end might be slightly off from where it was, but its no different then anywhere eles on the car. The thing is when I first got my lift kit I didn't bother with the rear shock sleeve mounting thing, and it made this exact same sound from both rears, got it, put it on, and it was fine for almost 3 months until I did this.

Yea, I'd check to make sure nothing hits during compression and expansion. My swaybar endlinks hit my rear coils ever so slightly.

I still have no idea what it is but seems to be getting slightly better the more I drive, now it only does it on bigger bumps. Probably going to spend my holiday weekend searching for dodo bird in the ocean

I did check, and nothing seems to be hitting at all anywhere. I'm going to try some wd-40, then tighten it up and see how it goes, but its driving me freakin crazy...and now this gear/tire whine type noise that sounds like it could be the diff bothers me, even though all I did was put on these springs

I'm also searching for the same symptoms. Clunk over bumps from the right rear and a whining sound that comes hen you apply the brakes. I first noticed it with new shocks and new rear brakes, so I took off the shocks and put the old ones back on and had a similar clunk. I disconnected the dog bone, or sway bar link which I also suspected and the clunk got worse over bumps. Over the past few days the clunk has gotten worse with minimal miles put on vehicle.

So far I suspect a problem with the spring, or spring isolator, or the rear axle bearing. I'm really hoping for the first

Any ideas?

I think ///BHRpowered was banned at some point, so I wouldn't wait for his followup. try removing swaybar completely just for a test. see if it goes away. Also, do you have gas tank skid? your sway could be hitting the skid. It shouldn't happen with OEM bar (addco has this problem) but just in case.........
