Oil seems burnt...

Running mobil 1 10w-30 high mileage non synetic, oil was changed about 1500 miles ago, by me. for the past 500 miles or so the oil seems to be burnt, or is atleast much darker then it should be, I did run some engine flush stuff through, but that was before I changed the oil last time. any thoughts?

I would not worry about it. Color usually is the least important symbol of oil quality. If your really concerned you can send a sample off to be analyzed (not sure where). I have heard about people doing this to see when they should change their synthetic. Just keep doing it periodically.

Also I have heard that those flushers aren't really worth it. (Snake Oil) Just keep your oil up to date.

I used the GUNK engine flush you add to the oil, it made a pretty noticable difference, 1-2mpg more, better idle, for 3 bucks and 6 mins of time it was worth ti
