Oil pressure drops sporatically

Any idea what would cause my oil pressure to drop to the floor, then sit and slowly rise back up?

There is usually an error notification that goes along with it.

I noticed it a few times yesterday, but was also using my AC pretty heavily.

Thanks in advance...
JT

Mine was doing that as well...just needed to replace the oil pressure switch. Wasn't accurately reading.

If the Jeep seems to be running okay, and the oil is up to level, it could be a oil pressure sending switch that's going bad. Here's a link to them on our website if you would like to try to replace it.

That happened to me when there was barely any oil in the Jeep. Oil change place forgot about the part where you refill it... So if you haven't done it yet, check your oil level.

Yeah, I've done every oil change since then. No more being lazy. I couldn't believe it!

In the GTA that does not does not surprise me. That is why I change it myself.

Check oil level.
Check for a defective oil sending unit.
Last but least check for faulty gauge. (Highly unlikely)
