oil filter adapter elimination? or replace o-rings?

Like title says i saw abunch of people on xjs do the elimination. But which would be the better deal on this? Replace o-rings or eliminate the adpater?

If you have an I6, I think replacing orings is a better option because you can run an oversize oil filter. i use the FL1A

Just replaced the o rings. It's a pain but you only have to do it what every 5-7 year's.
