SDAS Normal Duty Suspension

So my question is, I have a 2wd I6 grand. My build sheet says that i have the trailer tow package but i do not have a hitch or wiring. It also says(to my surprise) i have 3.73 gears with normal duty suspension. Is this a mistake or was there a different package that put on the hitch?

Is heavy duty engine cooling standard or is this in anyway a paid upgrade with a package.

Also, does anyone know what the special edition group came with?

Thanks for the help guys,
Dean

IRRC, it would say tow prep group if that were the case. The hitch has probably been removed.

Trailer tow prepfor 97 included 373s, aux trans cooler, heavy duty steering pump, relays for tow wiring and an addition harness running back to one of the rear wheel wells on the inside... forget which one.

You can check the tag on the outside of the rear diff cover to check the ratio.

My ZJ came with trailer tow group and when I bought it, the PO had a Reese hitch on it. and it definately didnt have factory wiring, the PO had hacked up the tail light harness' with scotch locks. I removed the reese hitch because it hung really low an installed a factory hitch from the junkyard. then i installed a tow ready t harness for the wiring, and adapted it from a 4 flat into a 7 blade and a 4 flat

just checked my build sheet, rather than trailer tow group option code AHC like the OP has, I have trailer tow group IV code AHX
anyone know the difference?

I have the tow group as well...no hitch, no wiring.

Only thing I have is transmission cooler, 3.73 gears and limited slip.

Ok, so i checked out the tag and at least i have the 373's. I searched in the wells for wiring as well as underneath but couldn't find anything.

Im almost certain I don't have a trans cooler and the build sheet didn't say anything about a limited slip. weird.

Almost all US late model ZJ's did not include a tranz cooler from the factory. Even with the tow package due to the "upgraded" radiator.

Whether it has the aftermarket harness (no tow group) or factory tow group prep, the connector is behind the trim near the left wheel well. If it has the tow group, there will be some relays or breakers mounted there too.

I registered my ZJ on moparownercenter.com a while back. You can find out what was standard equipment as well as optional equipment & dealer installed items on your vehicle after you register the VIN.
According to my info, mine lists nothing about a tow package, but I have a factory hitch, the plug in the compartment behind the spare, and all the relays, etc. behind that interior panel behind the spare. Mine also has the OD on/off switch on the dash(maybe they all have that...??).
BUT there are 9 entries in my standard & optional equipment that read "DESCRIPTION NOT AVAILABLE"..... It also mentions nothing about the power moonroof either. Hope that helps.

The code probably says it all. I have the full tow package and my code is AHT trailer group. Your's says AHC trailer group.

The transmission cooler should be in front of the radiator, on the drivers side. The passenger side one is the condenser for the AC. It it's not there, it could easily have gone bad and been removed.

A little confused on this one since doesn't the 98 4.0 have the AC condenser the full width of the radiator and in front of it like the 96 4.0? I know the trans oil cooler is on the driver's side of the of our 96 4.0's. The only thing I can think of which would be on the passenger side in front of the rad, other than the condenser the full width of the rad, is the trans oil cooler on the V8 as can be seen below. But also know we've been discussing mainly 4.0's in this thread except for dnuccio who has the 5.2.

BTW, didn't know there was a difference between the tow packages listed as AHC vs AHT. I have the "AHC Trailer Tow Group" and it came with 373 gears, trans oil cooler, wiring harness above left rear wheel well, I guess HD power steering as ZeeJay pointed out, but didn't have a hitch installed. I thought maybe the dealer removed the hitch since it was a lease until I bought it and they didn't want customers towing anything under a lease.
