correct. 1.550" input on the 46rh, the 545rfe also uses a 1.550" input with 23spl.

fun fact, any trans that will bolt to a magnum motor will bolt to a 4.7l powertech motor.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.

wait a second? does than mean a WJ 4.7 with the545rfe and a 242 would give me a direct swap for my 249?

i think the ax-15 takes a .840 exposed input shaft. check the tj forum, they'd know better than here. the only auto grands that DIDN'T have that length exposed shaft were the early v8's.
You mean the AX-15 uses the .840 exposed input shaft out of the 231, the 249, or both? (Let's assume that the .840 is correct.) I guess what I'm asking is will the exposed shaft's length be reduced between Transfer Cases?

No vss on the wj cases. Otherwise it swaps.

Exposed input lengths are universal in the nv/np transfer cases.

who needs a speedo anyways, im just slightly intimidated by swapping inputs

although i did have a buddy that could consistently guess within 5 mph of his speed by the pitch of TSLs. it was impressive to watch
