Not sure what to do would like some input

Well guys i finaly hit the 250000 marker on my jeep..... Still a sound ride but there are a couple things CV joint, sunroof doesnt work anymore, body rust ( Thank you MI roads) muffler and cc need to be replaced, and need new brakes. Everything else seems to be pretty good.

Only thing is when I was going up a hill today, the jeep is going fine in fourth gear then JUMPS down to third to get up that hill and didnt sound right...

To get to the point i am thinking about selling it ? but im not sure i was wondering if anyone else has 250000 on thiers and what do you i would be looking at further down the line if i do fix the minors on it.... If the trany were to go so on and so forth???

Any input to help with my situation would be great...

Thanks

Dave

oh mine is at 186 and it has done that since it was new...the 4.0 doesn't like going fast up a hill in overdrive

And it goes to second btw

I would say keep it...250k it can't be worth much if anything at all...if all else fails keep it, buy another ZJ and use it as your parts jeep

Mines almost 257,XXX miles, driven 100 miles per day. Runs fine when nothing broke, and I replace or repair stuff as it brakes. GC trannys are in probably almost every JY, buy one, a rebuild kit and start searching your butt off.

You do know downshifting from overdrive going up a hill is normal.. If your speed isnt high enough for your momentum you will downshift to prevent engine bogging
