Noise from left front Wheel well
Ok, this is probably not the right place to place this, but I am a new jeep owner (about a month), and I am also trying to learn how to do alot of the work myself (Still a member of the Automotive 101 class
)I have a 96 GC Limited 5.2 V8, with 113,000 miles. I believe most everyting on the car is stock, and since I'm the 3rd owner, Im not sure how much of it is original (tires look new though). This just started happening, but everytime I hit a bump, I hear a noise from in our around the front left side tire well area. I can even feel it when I have my left foot on the foot rest in the left corner (next to the break). Is this simply an issue with Shocks, or struts, or maybe the swaybar? If this is something that I can't fix, I would like to feel competent enough to take it into the shop and know what they are talking about . Thank you.

This is just a swag...
check the steering box. It is attached by three bolts. They are forward of the sway bar up on the "framerail". Don't over tighten them. Hunter

I'm thinking that it is the strut. I was pushing down on the left side hood, and I could hear a hissing noise as the strut compressed down. Anyone have a ballpark figure of the cost of replacing these?
